Tarkov Patch 1.2.0.0: What Changed for Quests, Keys and Maps
Patch 1.2.0.0 landed on October 6, 2026. The two headline features get their own posts: PVE Prestige and the EXFIL Brothers Program. This post covers everything else that affects quests, keys and the maps you run.
Customs
- New PMC and Scav extracts. The extract list has been rebalanced with new exits added, so check the Customs map before you rely on an old route
- Two new keys: the ZB-1013 Key and the Guard Post Key
- New loot spots in the locked dorm rooms, the USEC warehouse and elsewhere
- Locked containers are now guaranteed to hold loot
- The previously inaccessible safes in the company director's office can now be opened
- The Boiler Room Basement co-op extract now works no matter which side of the map you spawned on
- The flare extract sniper no longer opens fire when you move along the wall
- Various doors that were wrongly locked by the Factory emergency exit key have been fixed
For dorms runners this is a buff: guaranteed loot in locked containers plus new loot spots in the locked rooms makes dorm keys more valuable than they were last week.
Interchange
- New loot spots at the Emercom camp, Objects #11SR, #14 and #21WS, the OLI service areas, the Kiba Arms store and other areas
- Locked containers are now guaranteed to hold loot
- New loot containers added, including PMC bodies
- The cash registers in OLI, Goshan and IDEA have a new loot template
- The cash registers in the standalone ULTRA stores no longer need a key. Goshan, IDEA and OLI registers still do
- Truck cabins that were wrongly locked by the Factory emergency exit key have been fixed
Shoreline
- Environmental audio has been reworked
Factory
- Tagilla no longer spawns next to you at the start of a raid
The Labyrinth
- PMC bots now spawn on The Labyrinth and join the fighting
PVE Zone Changes
Beyond Prestige, PVE got a large rework of how bots behave:
- PMC bots are always present from the start of a raid, in more consistent numbers, spread more evenly across the map
- Bot level now matches the map, so The Lab gets more high-level PMC bots
- A bot's gear, weapons and difficulty follow its level and faction. Low-level bots use low loyalty level gear; high-level bots carry the good stuff
- PMC bots move toward points of interest and task areas more actively and take less predictable routes
- USEC and BEAR bots team up far more often and stay non-hostile to each other
- There is a small chance a PMC bot stays neutral to you until you get close or attack
- PMC bots fight Scavs and bosses more often, and will not attack a player Scav first
In practice: expect PMC bots at quest locations you used to have to yourself, and expect the ones in The Lab to be well armed. The Bosses pages carry PVE notes where behaviour differs.
PVE Zone also gained the ability to buy in-game roubles from the Expansion Hub, and the USEC Tony and BEAR Den voice packs.
Quality of Life
- Ctrl + left click on the trading screen switches between buy and sell
- You can pin players in the friends list
- The extraction timer turns white when you are about to get Run-Through status
- Drum magazines are easier to load, unload and read
- You can inspect your own PMC dogtag on the character screen
- You can choose which story ending to display on your profile, in every mode
- Server-side position sync was improved to cut down on rubber-banding, with more network work promised
Fixes Worth Knowing
- Task items are no longer lost when moved during raid loading
- You can no longer plant a PMC dogtag you do not actually have for a task
- A transit bug that blocked moving between locations after several transits is fixed
- Shadow and volumetric lighting settings now save properly between sessions
- The red artifacts in optic lenses are gone
- The PVE loading hang at "Loading configuration files" is fixed
What TarkovForge Is Updating
The new Customs keys and extracts flow in from the game data automatically, so key pages and the extract markers on our Customs quest maps update as soon as the data does. If you spot a quest guide that still describes an old extract, tell us in the Discord.
